Life Around a Tree

At its centre, open to the sky, a single tree rises from a courtyard: the still point the whole house turns around. Rooms look onto it; light and rain fall into it. Nature here isn’t the view. It’s the heart. Beyond the walls, the land opens: paddy fields to the treeline, a long pool drawn out across them, and a quiet you no longer find near the coast. This is Goa as countryside.
